Circle in a Square Block
Small version: using H hook and 1 strand worsted weight yarn = 4 inches (10 cm)
Large version: using N hook and 2 strands worsted weight yarn = 6 inches (15 cm)
With color A, ch 4 join with slst in first st to form a ring.
Rd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc) dc 15 st in ring (16 dc), join to top st of beg ch 3.
Rd2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in each st around (32 dc), join to top st of beg ch 3. Change to color B
Rd3: ch 2, hdc in next 2 st, dc in next st, shell in next st (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc), dc in next st, hdc in next 5 st, dc in next st, shell in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next 5 st, dc in next st, shell in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next 5 st, dc in next st, shell in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next 2 st, join to top of ch 2, finish off.
